New Things: Ubuntu, Castle Windsor
Nicolas Galler | March 21, 20072 new things I needed to jot down before crashing…
I loaded up Xubuntu to replace my Debian server. I have used Debian for years now but the fact is I don’t have enough time anymore to babysit it and figure out what the obscure errors mean… At this point I just want stuff that works. And that is what Ubuntu has been getting me so far. It is like getting the convenience of Redhat with the power of Debian. Love it. I still won’t use Linux as my main desktop anymore – too much 3rd party stuff that doesn’t work or requires tinkering, but it will be a neat thing to VNC into.
So I started looking at Castle Windsor. I have never worked with an injection container before and it just blew me away. I foresee a lot of refactoring ahead!! I also plan to use monorail very soon, but I really want to get something done with Turbogears first, in order to have something to compare it with. I might write a blog prog as an experiment, since I need to move my stuff off blogger anyway.
